Our Counselors Want you to Succeed!
Mayra first learned about EOPS when she attended Yuba College. She was a first generation college student, who came from a poor, immigrant family and because of her needs became part of EOPS. Her hard work earned her a place as an EOPS Peer Counselor. During her attendance at Yuba College, she worked with other programs such as, Upward Bound, Educational Talent Search (ETS), and Student Support Services (SSS). Mayra transferred to CSU, Sacramento and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, and a Master in Science in Counseling. She has been working as a Counselor since 2013. Throughout the years, she gained experience working with EOPS, General Counseling, and CalWORKs at Yuba College. In addition, she worked with the Transfer Center and General counseling here at Butte College. Mayra is very excited to work with our EOPS student population, and looks forward to meeting you!
